This LLC children's picture book and audio CD combination (similar to the recent one on Martin Luther), is a kid-friendly snapshot of Lars Levi Laestadius' life, from his poor childhood in remote Lapland to his scientific accomplishments, and ultimately to his call into God's kingdom and the awakening movement that his conversion set into motion. This 48-page book is translated by Tommi and Lisa Kinnunen from an SRK's book, "Poika joka rakasti kukkia," written by Marjatta Säkkinen. The original illustrations by Helmiriitta Honkanen are also used in LLC's English version. The accompanying CD includes Roland Keranen's reading of the story, singing by Menahga, Minn., children under the direction of Ben Huhta, and sound effects to enliven the narrative. With this book and the previous Luther book, children will have a better sense of the history and persons represented in the name, Laestadian Lutheran.
