Join an LLC group trip to Ecuador

General Information

Join an LLC Group trip to Ecuador in 2024! The planned trip dates are May 31–June 9, 2024. The group leaders are Adeline Moll (amoll@llchurch.org) and Adrian Pirness (adrian.pirness@llchurch.org). Keith Moll will also join the trip as the second minister.

The trip will include services with Ecuadorian believers as well as touring the country. The trip is being organized by Latin Frontiers. They will arrange lodging, transportation on a private charter bus, and a English-Spanish guide for the trip. The guide will be able to share about the historical and cultural significance of the locations we visit on the trip. See the itinerary tabs for more details about each day of the trip.

Itinerary

Below is the current itinerary plan. There may be changes to the daily plans, depending on the interests of the group.

Saturday, June 1: Otavalo Indian Market

We will take a bus 2 hours north of Quito, to Otavalo. There we will visit a large Indigenous market with colorful tapestries, wool sweaters, paintings, wood carvings, jewlery, and more.

There will also we an option to visit the Peguche waterfall.

On the way to Otavalo, we may also stop at Mitád del Mundo, the monument on the equator.

We will return to Quito in the evening.

Sunday, June 2

The day will begin with 11:00 services at the hotel with the believers from Quito. These services may also include the other believers from around Ecuador via Zoom.

After services, there will be a few options for the rest of the day. Depending on the interests of the group, the group may be able to split up.

Option 1: Tour Centro Histórico, the historic center of Quito. There are many Catholic cathedrals that can be toured, including the magnificent Basilica.

Option 2: Take the cable car up the Pichincha volcano. This brings you up to about 12,000 ft in elevation. There are views of the city, and an option to take a short hike to a swing, that overlooks the city.

Monday, June 3

On Monday, we will leave Quito. As we travel South, we will stop at the Quilatoa crater lake. This lake is formed in a dormant volcano crater. At the lake, there is possibility to hike or take a horse from the rim down to the water. (Horses cost about $15). The views can also be enjoyed from the rim. In the small town of Quilatoa, there are also shops and restaurants.

After spending the day in Quilato, we will continue on to Baños, where we will spend the night.

Wednesday, June 5

On Wednesday, we will leave Baños. On the way to Riobamba, we will stop to visit believers in Chiquicha. We will visit the home of Patricio and Sonia. They have a farm in the fertile valley of Chiquicha, near Ambato. A river runs through their property, and they grow avocados, along with many other fruits. We will have services outside in their yard.

After spending the afternoon visiting, we'll continue on to Riobamba.

Base Costs

$800-$900 (Depending on the final group size)

Hotels with breakfast included. The base cost is based on double-occupancy. Contact us about single occupancy prices.

Lunch and dinner (a dinner stop will be planned each day, and estimated costs are $10–15 / meal)
Flights

Payment Schedule and Refunds

Sign up with a $200 deposit by August 31, 2023. At that point, Latin Frontiers will secure all reservations for the trip. If you are unable to attend, the deposit is refundable until April, 2024.
Remaining trip costs will be due in April, 2024.

Flights

Flights are not included in the arranged trip plans. Group participants will book their own flights to and from Ecuador. We will arrive at the Quito Airport, and depart from the Guayaquil airport. Flights for the group leaders will be purchased around January 2024, and we will communicate those flight schedules to group participants, to coordinate the same flights, if desired.
